Population aging is a common issue we are now facing. One of the difficulties appeared is how we could take the elderly with disabilities and children out for vacation more easily. The innovation is here to solve the problem. “Connect” is a design that could be transformed to be a vehicle, which lets a baby and the elderly to board together, just simply with some of the steps.
Continue readingVitalk is an assistive device to enhance learning experience and speech theraphy of hearing impaired persons. In the world there are over 300 million deaf people. Many of these people do not have any literacy skills, rest of them face other educational and self expression problem according their disablity level. Using hearing aids or healing cochlear implants tried to solve their hearing loss but; Vital’ is designed to remove the problems of speech and language training and make hearing impaired people feel their own voices by giving visual feedbacks with many resources.
Continue readingThe barrier-free access system, Rehber simply works as an elevated ramp. It is a contemporary solution for both unimpeded and disabled people which enables access opportunities. Rehber can be adjustable desired height. It's a universal design, strifeless, for everyone in the universe. This is a university project in Metu and supported by Metu Teknokent. Unique properties of Rehber is that it can be applied almost everywhere. Inspiration comes from experience in university. Challenges are suitable for mass production, low cost, need minimum repairment, safe and easy to use etc.
Continue readingShift is a low tech and low cost walker designed to provide gait assistance and enhance sit-to-stand and stand-to-sit transitions, offering an alternative to early wheelchair use. The improvement on the transfer maneuver is due to the products structural features: an extra handlebar and the posterior feet design, which provide a secure lift movement. Its style was designed to shift from social stigma related concepts to an independent and social living.

B.my.jet is based on a powder deposition system. This technology allows depositing well-controlled amount of powder in a certain heap onto a surface in a wide range of quantities and sizes.
Continue readingNew-arm is a rehabilitation assistive device which infuses gamification to an arm skate to motivate post-stroke survivors to regain their upper limb mobility. The novelty lies with pairing it with a non-immersive virtual reality game that complements the arm-skate device to provide a rewarded, goal-directed task to motivate post-stroke survivors where users could undertake point-to-point reaching tasks, performed on a table; encouraging users to engage socially on fun and meaningful rehabilitation therapy.
